THE SWOPE MANOR BED & BREAKFASTS

Our boutique inn offers fine lodging accommodations in a real Civil War farmhouse. Relax on 30 beautiful acres of Gettysburg’s South Cavalry Battlefield, which is a mere 7 minutes from downtown Gettysburg.

We invite you to enjoy our spacious common rooms and the service of our friendly staff and entertaining and knowledgeable historians. Each morning, our chefs prepare delicious, hearty breakfasts.

Our 1809 Farmhouse has ten guest rooms and a climate-controlled indoor event venue with soaring ceilings and tons of light. The 1820 Historic Barn has one luxury guest room and a seasonal wedding venue with warm glowing lights, high ceilings, and tons of space. We love hosting weddings and showers!

Our history travelers will appreciate that this farm was home to abolitionist Cornelius Houghtelin. The farmhouse served as headquarters for General Wesley Merritt. The barn was a field hospital.

Baladerry Inn

THE INN AT HERR RIDGE

Current owner, Steven Wolf, purchased the establishment in 1977. After much research, Mr. Wolf realized the historic importance of Herr Tavern and revived it to its original purpose and present existence. Located on the fringe of the Battlefield, the Inn at Herr Ridge is close to the center of Gettysburg. Find yourself pulling into the Inn’s expansive parking area, leave your bags in the car, and be greeted at the door with an invitation to sit and enjoy a glass of bubbly by the fire. Your vacation begins here. Allow a cordial greeter to later escort and familiarize you with the intricacies of your unique guest room. HICKORY BRIDGE FARM

A quaint country retreat offering 5 bedroom farmhouse (circa 1750’s) accommodations (some with whirlpool bath) and two duplex cottages with wood burning fireplaces.
